Camping
Camps and Learning Programs for Adults
The Appalachian Mountain Club maintains a summer lodges
with all-inclusive outdoors-geared programs for adults and families. The full-service camps in Maine
(offering three daily meals, organized hikes, evening programs) are at Echo Lake on Mount Desert and Cold River Camp in Evans Notch (near the New Hampshire border within the White Mountain National Forest) and in the Maine North Woods, Little Lyford and Medalwisla, both classic sporting camps, with a connecting trail system.
L. L. Bean offers introductions to a variety of sports
with programs lasting from a couple hours to multiday family adventures
and Outdoor Discovery Schools.
