Sea Kayaking Along the New England Coast by Tamsin Venn (Appalachian Mountain Club) includes detailed guidance to kayaking routes from Portland to Cobscook Bay as well as an overall introduction to the sport. Dorcas Miller’s comprehensive guidebook Kayaking the Maine Coast: A Paddler’s Guide to Day Trips from Kittery to Cobscook (Countryman Press) is an excellent resource for kayak owners and competent kayakers.
